Big Brother Big Sister

A Heart for Horses is proud to partner with Big Brother Big Sisters of Montana with their riding program. From the impact of horses in our own life we believe the bond between horses and humans is powerful. Through the relationship with a horse, one can build: mutual trust, respect, affection, empathy, unconditional acceptance, confidence, personal success, responsibility, assertiveness, communication skills, and self-control. We are excited that the kids at Big Brother Big Sister will be able to experience the life-altering relationship with horses for themselves!

A little about the organization- Big Brothers Big Sisters helps children realize their potential and build their futures. BBBS helps nurture children and strengthen communities while helping the youth navigate a broad spectrum of risk behaviors and factors including depression and suicide, delinquency, substance abuse, teen pregnancy, and school dropout.

Since 1904, Big Brothers Big Sisters has operated under the belief that inherent in every child is incredible potential. As the nation’s largest donor- and volunteer-supported mentoring network, Big Brothers Big Sisters makes meaningful, monitored matches between adult volunteers ("Bigs") and children ("Littles"), ages 5 through young adulthood in communities across the country. We develop positive relationships that have a direct and lasting effect on the lives of young people.

MISSION- Create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth.

VISION- All youth achieve their full potential.

ACCOUNTABILITY- By partnering with parents/guardians, volunteers, and others in the community we are accountable for each child in our program achieving:
• Higher aspirations, greater confidence, and better relationships. Avoidance of risky behaviors. Educational success
